Basketball: LWC to face two ranked opponents this week The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team will be facing two ranked opponents this week. The Blue Raiders will first take on No. 6 University of the Cumberlands on Thursday followed, by a rematch with No. 17 Georgetown on Saturday. Thursday's game is set to begin at 7:30pmCT, and Saturday is scheduled for 3pmCT, at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. Both games will be broadcast live on the Lindsey Wilson Sports Network. The Blue Raiders are coming off a 91-78 victory against Cumberland and are sitting on a 11-9 overall record and a 2-3 conference record. Freshman Kenyata Carbon leads the team in points with 310 so far this season. Lucas Ribeiro leads with 116 rebounds and Carbon has tallied 80 assists as well as 27 steals. The last meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Cumberlands was on February 16, 2023, with the Blue Raiders taking that game with a score of 89-77. The Blue Raiders last saw the Tigers less than a month ago on January 11. Lindsey Wilson upset Georgetown in that game with the final score being 91-87. Cumberlands currently have an 18-2 overall record and are 4-1 in conference play. The Patriots are coming off a 73-81 loss to Freed-Hardeman. Jonathan Brown leads the team in points with 310, followed by DJ Jones with 246. Matthew Cromer leads in rebounds with 112 and Jones has recorded 83 assists as well as 45 steals. Brown and Robertas Jonaitis have each tallied 12 blocks, and Harry Morrice has recorded 11. Georgetown has an overall record of 16-4 and a conference record of 3-2. The Tigers are coming off a 93-70 win against Bethel (Tenn.) and will first face Campbellsville on Thursday before taking on the Blue Raiders. Senior Cam Brooks-Harris leads the team in points with 258, followed closely by sophomore Rashad Bishop with 243. Senior Kyran Jones leads in rebounds with 173 and Jaquay Wales leads in assists with 79. Isaiah Mason has recorded 27 steals and Wales has 26. Bishop has recorded 34 blocks so far this season.
