Linda Lou Durrett, 75, Green County, KY (1948-2024)

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Linda Lou Milby Durrett, a cherished member of the Greensburg, Kentucky community. She passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at age 75, surrounded by her family, to join her parents Boyce and Mary Milby, brothers Mitchell Dean Milby and Jim Tom Milby, sister Janice Miller, and grandchild Aiden Constant in eternal rest.

She was born on Wednesday, August 18, 1948, and spent her life dedicated to her family, faith, and community. She dedicated many years of service to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, contributing her talents and skills to the betterment of the justice system. Linda's commitment to her work left a lasting impact, and her colleagues remember her as a dedicated and compassionate professional.


She is survived by her brother Stan Milby, who will carry on the Milby family legacy. Linda's memory lives on through her loving children Scottie Durrett, Brenda (Justin) Constant, and Michael (Jessie) Durrett.

Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Brandi Durrett, Caitlyn Durrett, Emily Durrett, Blake Milby (Jessi), Clay Milby, Hunter Milby, Lyric Milby, J.B. Constant, Miley Constant, Evan Constant, Trinity Durrett, Quintin Durrett, Blaine Durrett, Caleb Durrett.

The joy of Linda's life extended to her great-grandchildren: Xander, Alexis, Elijah, Liam, Aaliyah, Mia, and Lucas. Linda's love, laughter, and warmth will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.

A devoted member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Linda found solace and strength in her faith. She was an active participant in the church's activities and found joy in singing in the choir, sharing her beautiful voice to uplift the congregation in worship. Her presence and contributions will be sorely missed by the church community.

She was not just a dedicated professional and a faithful church member; she was a loving and adventurous soul. Always up for an adventure, Linda embraced life with a contagious enthusiasm that inspired those around her. Whether it was exploring new places, trying new hobbies, or simply enjoying quality time with loved ones, Linda approached every moment with a zest for life.

Her love for her family knew no bounds. She was a devoted spouse, parent, grandparent, and friend. Her warmth and kindness created a loving home, and her family was the center of her universe. She leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

In honoring her memory, let us remember her as a beacon of love, faith, and adventure. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the love she shared.

The funeral services will be conducted at 11amCT Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Stan Milby officiating. Visitation is requested from 4 - 8 Sunday and after 7 Monday until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to the Gideons Bible Fund or Hosparus of Green River, which can be made at the funeral home.
