LETTER and maybe announcement for Mayor of Columbia: From Henderson, NV

Jimmy Burris reports in from Henderson, Nevada

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Waggener,

I just thought that I would write and say hello.

It has been a while since we have been back in town and mom said that I should go on to your web site and check out my Aunt Joyce in her political adventure.

Think, if she wins, I have a politician in my back pocket.

I also have heard that Tom and Pen have opened a coffee shop in Shelbyville.

Well best of luck with the paper and the web site. Now that I know about your website I can keep up with the happenings in Adair County.

If there is anything that I can do let me know.

Its great. Maybe I will come back and run for mayor one day.

Editor's comment

Thanks, Jimmy, for writing and for letting us share this letter with your friends back here.

To acquaint others with the contents: "Aunt Joyce" is Joyce Reliford, candidate for Adair County Judge. "Tom and Pen" are our sons. and the coffee shop is Sixth & Main Coffee in Shelbyville, KY, John Cox, Proprietor.

Of course, you belong back here with your mother, Phyllis; and all your buddies and friends here. We hope it is sooner than later.

As for your announcement for Mayor: There may be an element of confusement when you run. We already have one Mayor Jim Burris in Columbia.

This one was Mayor of Russell Springs, KY. His friends haven't figured out whether he's here because some High Adair County Power has given him political asylum, or by Right of Growing up on Fairground ST, or just because this is the best place in the world for such a fellow to live. In any case, he's a fine addition to our numbers.

Straighten the Jim Burris issue out, and you ought to do quite well at Mayoring here.

-Ed
