Thelma Grimes, 90, Taylor County, KY (1933-2024)

Thelma Grimes of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Everett Sprowles and Rhea Beard Sprowles, was born November 5, 1933 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Saturday, January 6, 2024 in Campbellsville at age 90.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and a homemaker.


She united in marriage to Woodrow Grimes September 5, 1951 and he preceded her in death December 22, 2006.

Thelma is survived by two daughters: Cindy Crain and husband, Joe of Gainesville, Georgia and Patricia Veatch of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Dalton Robertson of Gainesville, Georgia, Troy Veatch of Campbellsville and Travis Veatch and wife, Jenny of White House, Tennessee; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Thelma was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Dencil Sprowles, Herman Keith Sprowles, James Sprowles, Mattie Durham and Arvella Kearnes.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2pmET Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens in Campbellsville by Rev. Charles Wright.
