Hazel R. Curry, 92, Columbia, KY (1931-2023)

Hazel Rogers Curry, 92, formerly of Richmond, Kentucky and widow of the late Embry Curry, died on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at her home in Columbia, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 11amET on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, 1110 Barnes Mill Road, Richmond, KY, with Brandon Carter and Malcolm Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10amET until services at 11amET at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.


Born July 29, 1931 in Jackson County Kentucky to the late George W. and America Dean Rogers. She was retired from Westinghouse and Phillips Lighting and a member of Broadway Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Steven Embry Curry (Jan) of Columbia, KY; one sister, Faye Venable; a loved and adored family member Libby Garrett; grandchildren, Graham Swayze and Andrew Lewis Pence (Melissa); great grandchildren, Victoria Pence and Audrey Miller; family members Edith Johnson (Alex) and Anita Portwood and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Pence, Seth Johnson, Gary Portwood, Steve Bates, Ethan Bates, and Greg Knighton. Honorary pallbearers will be Carrie and Roy Grimes, Libby Garrett, Alex Johnson and Dana Knighton.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home assisted with the local arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.orpfh.com.
