Glenda Evans, 77, Columbia, KY (1946-2023)

Glenda (Taylor) Evans of Columbia passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Summit Manor Nursing Home. She was 77 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 2pmCT on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Mike Moon officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 11amCT on Saturday.


Glenda was born August 13, 1946, in Adair County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marie Hamilton Taylor and her former husband, Keith Evans.

She was a retired employee of Cummins Inc. of Columbus, Indiana. She fulfilled her longtime goal of returning to Columbia in 2017. She loved being at home and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, Bible studies and was gifted artistically.

Survivors include:
  • Four brothers - Fred (Sheila) Taylor, Edwin (Carolyn) Taylor, Sammy (Margaret) Taylor all of Columbia and Orville (Donna) Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Two sisters - Jeanette Rucker of Louisville and Rita (Terry) Partin of Columbia
  • Nephews - John Partin, Tracy Taylor, Trent Taylor, Brian Taylor and Greg Allen
  • Nieces - Julie Burton, Candi Flatt, Bethany Shain, Deanna Quillen, Melissa Farris and Darlisa Padgett
  • Several great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Jones Chapel Cemetery which can be left at the funeral home.
