Janette Bernard, 71, Russell County, KY (1951-2023) Janette Copley Bernard, of Russell Springs, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at her home. She was 71 years of age. She was a former sewing machine operator at Union Underwear in Jamestown. She was such a good seamstress; she was hired to make many sets of curtains and bedspreads for houseboats on the lake. Janette enjoyed reading and collecting cedar wood items, antiques, and Home Interior decor. She was born February 14, 1951, in Russell County, a daughter of the late Alvin and Eliza Ragle Copley. Survivors included a son, Dale Bernard of Russell Springs; a daughter, Karen Bunch of Russell Springs; two brothers, Ronald Copley, and Jimmy (and Genova) Copley, both of Russell Springs; two sisters, Joyce LaFavers, of Russell Springs, and Dorothy Luttrell of Dunnville; five grandchildren, Derek Bernard, Jordan Godsey, Calvin Bernard, Justin Bernard, and Lucas Andrew; and four great grandchildren, Londyn Bernard, Kynzlee Bernard, Paige Grimsley, and Ashlee Grimsley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Bernard; two brothers, Larry Copley, and Buster Copley; a sister, Shirley Passmore; and a son, Kevin Bernard. Funeral services are 1pmCT Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
