James Darrell Loy, 65, Columbia, KY (1958-2023) James Darrell Loy of Columbia passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was 65 years old. Funeral services will be held at 11amCT on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Wes Irvin and Candace Prado officiating. Burial will follow in the Loy Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue Saturday until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born in Columbia, KY on October 8, 1958, to the late Young Loy and Violet Mildred Brown Loy of Columbia, KY who survives. Mr. Loy was a member of the Pierce's Chapel Church and a dairy farmer in Adair County. Darrell was a Prairie Farms Producer and when not farming he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Peggy Curry Loy of Columbia, KY; two children Kristi Loy Irvin (Marty) and Kasey Loy (Holly) both of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren Braxton Irvin, Alex Loy, Andrew Loy, and Madison Irvin; two siblings Tilford Loy (Sandy) of Columbia, KY, and Rita Spires (Keven) of Campbellsville, KY and several other friends and relatives. Pallbearers will be Alex Loy, Andrew Loy, Braxton Irvin, Tony Joe Compton, Chris Coomer, Clayton Hadley, Mike McMinoway, and Kenny Redmon.
