Jim Pennington, 81, Casey County, KY (1942-2023) Jim Pennington, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2023. Born March 29, 1942, in Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late William "Boss" and Leslie "Boo" Campbell Pennington. He retired from CSX Railroad. He was also a farmer, good storyteller, and member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church. He was an honest hard-working man that loved his family and his farm in Casey County dearly. Jim was preceded in death by his dear wife, Geraldine Wethington Pennington, who passed away on August 13, 2013. They were married on December 15, 1962, exactly 61 years to the day before Jim's passing. He is also preceded by his 3 brothers, Bill, Dale, and Mick Pennington. Survivors include his son, Jimmy (and the late Robin) Pennington; daughters, Kim (and Mark) Cox, Susie Glenn, and Pam (and Larry) Ethington; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; special friend, Charlene Warner; and a host of other family members and friends survive. Funeral mass will be held at 11amET on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father George Otuma officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery.
