Ronnie Skipworth, 80, Burkesville, KY (1943-2023)

Ronnie Skipworth, age 80 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Cumberland County Hospital. Ronnie was born on October 22, 1943 in Cumberland County, KY to the late Ivo Mathais Skipworth and Nina Sharp Skipworth.

He was a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ and a retired educator working in the Park City School System, Kettle Elementary School and later a teacher and principal for the Cumberland County High School.


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou Poindexter Skipworth. Survivors Include:

Two Sons - Wayne Skipworth and his wife Shelia and Mark Skipworth both of Burkesville, KY

Four Brothers - Dr. Joseph Skipworth and his wife Mary, Jackie Skipworth, and Jerry Skipworth all of Burkesville, KY and Johnie Skipworth and his wife Marsha of Bowling Green, KY

One Sister - Judy Tweedy of Bowling Green, KY

Three Grandchildren - Logan Skipworth, Hannah Long, and Behka Skipworth

Four Great Grandchildren - Cooper, Luna, Jasper, and Piper along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 12noonCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Williams Cemetery in Clay County, TN.
