Applications can be picked up for 4-H camp, May 26-30

Adair 4-H'ers will attend Lake Cumberland 4-H Center Camp with Green County 4-H; cost for everything is $120.00

Youth from Adair County can go to camp at Lake Cumberland 4-H Center May 26-30, 2006 with 4-H club members from Green County.

The cost is $120.00, which includes transportation, lodging, meals, etc. Applications can be picked up at the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service located at 409 Fairground Street in Columbia.


There may be a limited number of scholarships available to help with camp registration fee. Applications are due to the County Extension Office not later than March 1, 2006 Campers will take part in an organized program of activities such as swimming, boating, archery, hiking, crafts, outdoor education, folk games, camp fires, group sports, and more. Therell be new friends and youll learn more about citizenship, leadership, and getting along with others. The first 70 campers signing up will be able to attend. Others will be able to go if there is room and if we have enough volunteer leaders.

Youth who are in 4th through 7th grades during this school year can attend. Some who are in 8th grade may attend as Teen Leaders by filling out Teen Leader Applications. Several High School age students will be selected to attend camp as Teen Leaders also, after filling out an application. More information about 4-H camp can be found at the Adair County 4-H Website

4-H Camp Teen Leader Applications

Are you interested in being a Teen Leader at 4-H Camp? Teen Leader applications are currently available from the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service or from Tony Rose. Male and female Teen Leaders are need for Camp. You must fill out and application and participate in interviews. Teens leaders will be selected based on the application and interview. Applications are due into the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service by April 1, 2006. Applications can be down load from the Adair County 4-H website t by clicking here

State 4-H Shooting Sports Camp

Are you between the ages of 9 and 13 and do you have an interest in shooting sports. Then the State 4-H Shooting Sports camp might be of interest to you. The camp will be held on March 29 April 1 at the Lake Cumberland 4-H Camp. 4-H members will have the opportunity to attend Shooting Sports Camp. During the camp, 4-H'ers learns safety and ethical handling of their firearms. Certified instructors will be presenting classes and range work. Each camper will learn responsible and safe use of firearms and how to shoot in the six disciplines of the shooting sports program. The six disciplines are: rifle, trap, archery, hunter challenge, and black powder pistol. Firearms and ammunition will be supplied to all the campers to use. Any camper, who does not have their orange card, will have the opportunity to qualify for it during the camp. There is an $85.00 registration fee that covers all expenses at camp and crafts.
