Dwight Hale, 80, Paducah, KY (1943-2023)

Dwight Hale, 80, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 2:28 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. He was born on October 11, 1943 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky and grew up in "The Holler" of Adair County, Kentucky. Dwight was a 1961 graduate of Adair County High School.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, 120 Memorial Drive, Paducah, KY, with Rev. Darrin Hale officiating.

Visitation will begin at 11amCT on Saturday at the funeral home.


He retired from Trunkline Gas Company after 35 years of service in 1997 as Area Superintendent. Dwight was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and loved his family and friends. He enjoyed his Ford Truck, motorcycling, camping, fishing, boating, woodworking, fabricating and crafting decor items.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Darlene Waldron Hale; three daughters, Mellony Hale, Tracy (Clay) Jenkins and Jackie Green all of Paducah, Kentucky; one step-son, Phillip (Karen) Nethery of Brandon, Mississippi; one step-daughter, Christina Coburn of Paducah, Kentucky; two sisters, Carolyn Boyer (Terry) of Mattoon, Illinois and LaVerne Jessee (Gene) of Columbia, Kentucky; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; Betty Butler, mother of his four children and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Hale, parents, Orvil Woodman Hale and Dollye Ellen Burchett Hale, three sisters, JoAnn, Rachel and Dana; three brothers, Darrell, Walter and Timmy; Tommie Jean Hale, mother of his step-son, Phillip.
