Jim Wilson, 82, Casey County, KY (1941-2023) James "Jim" Wilson, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at St. Clair Hospital in Morehead. He was 82. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and was also caretaker of Salem Cemetery for many years. He was an avid sports fan; particularly loving the UK Wildcats, Cincinnati Reds, and Casey County High School basketball. He enjoyed scratching lottery tickets, eating sweets, and most of all, visiting the lounge at McKinney-Brown every day to read the newspaper and to warm up his coffee. He was a United States Army veteran. Born on January 31, 1941, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Melvin J. and Ora Mae Lee Wilson. Jim is preceded in death by his siblings, Matra Lois May, Martha West, Lillie Withers, Helen Cain, Franklin Wilson, Ray Lee Wilson, Betty Overstreet, Albert Wilson, Bill Wilson, Paul Wilson, and Mary Elizabeth Clark. The funeral service will be held at 1pmET on Friday, December 8, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. John Loper officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
