Shelby Reece, 82, Metcalfe County, KY (1941-2023)

Shelby Loy Reece, 82, of Knob Lick, KY passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at her residence. She was born on April 30, 1941, in Metcalfe County to the late Ed Delmer and Georgia Marine Pedigo Bennett.

Mrs. Reece was a member of the Wisdom Community Church, she was saved at an early age on August 28, 1951, and baptized at Slick Rock. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano and played for many funerals and various events in Metcalfe County and surrounding areas. She was a former member of the Wisdom Homemaker's Club and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Survivors include her husband Stanley Edward Reece of Knob Lick, KY; three daughters Stanletta Berry (Duane) of Glasgow, KY, Edwana Goodson (Steve) of Glasgow, KY, and Katina Turner (Brad) of Cave City, KY; six grandchildren Jason Berry (Nicole), Chelsea Thurman (Marcus), Hannah Goodson Morgan, Lucas Goodson, Cole Turner, and Carly Turner; four great grandchildren Carson Berry, Mia Berry, Emalyn Thurman, and Everly Thurman and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Frederick Shane Reece and two siblings Velta Jean Compton and Kenton Bennett.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home with burial in the New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday after 9:00am at Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home.
