Alvleen Bernard, 90, Casey County, KY (1933-2023)

Alvleen Terry Bernard, of Dunnville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, December 1, 2023. She was 90.

She was a longtime faithful member of the Dunnville Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and was well known for her quilting. She was lovingly known as Gia, Mawmaw, and Granny B. Born July 16, 1933, in Casey County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Alvie Franklin Terry and Orine Smith Terry.


Survivors include her son, Ronald Brent (and Judy) Bernard of Danville; brothers, Thurman (and Versie) Terry and Larry "Red" (and Audrey) Terry, both of Dunnville; sisters, Emma Jane (and the late Charles) Monday of Florence and Roberta (and Carl) Thomas of Shepherdsville; grandchildren, Logan (and Breann) Bernard of Jellico, TN, Derek Bernard (and Kinsey Back) of Lexington, Carissa Bernard (and Andrew Pierce) of Nashville, DJ Bernard (and Zach Spicer) of Danville, and Alex Coppage of Dunnville; one step-grandson, Jordan (and Taylor) Coppage of Scottsburg, IN; great-grandchildren, Wesley Connor Bernard and Adelaide Grace Bernard, both of Harrodsburg and Isabella "Bella" Almae Bernard of Danville; sisters-in-law, Edra Bernard and Naomi Bernard, both of Dunnville; and a host of other family and friends also survive.

Mrs. Bernard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, whom she married on November 30, 1955, Arvis Athel "Ob" Bernard; daughters, Patricia Mae Bernard, Rebecca Kay Bernard, and Connie Lynn Bernard Coppage; and sister, Laneer Mae Wilkinson.

Funeral services will be at 1pmET on Monday, December 4, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Viers officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8PM on Sunday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Logan, Derek, Carissa, DJ, and Brent Bernard, Alex Coppage, Andrew Pierce, and Zach Spicer. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class at Dunnville Christian Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
