LWC Theatre to present Peter/Wendy on Thursday and Friday The Lindsey Wilson College Theatre Program will present a whimsical and imaginative adaptation of the classic children's tale Peter/Wendy at 7pmCT on Thursday, November 16, 2023 and Friday, November 17, 2023. In this lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of Peter Pan, Jeremy Bloom strips the familiar story down to its emotional essence. Peter lures Wendy away from her nursery to the magical world of Neverland, where she joins his adventures with Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily, and the menacing Captain Hook. A low-tech, inventive adaptation that pays homage to the darker themes of J. M. Barrie's original, Peter/Wendy will mesmerize audiences of all ages. This creative production is directed by LWC Assistant Professor of Theatre Jeremy Cloyd, and will be performed in V.P. Henry Auditorium, located inside the L.R. McDonald Administration Building, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY. To purchase tickets in advance, visit www.lindsey.edu/theatre. Tickets will also be available at the door. "Children and adults will absolutely love this play," says director Jeremy Cloyd. "The characters are familiar, the staging is full of imagination, and the story is a classic." The play is performed as part of the program's long-standing tradition of producing at least one Theatre for Young Audiences play each year. Jeremy Cloyd says, "LWC Theatre's Educational Outreach program has been serving area students since its inception. Whether they come to campus and see the show or we take the show to them, it's important to us not only to expose LWC students to quality theatre, but also students all over the Southcentral Kentucky region."
