Julia Frances Curry Stone, 83, Green County, KY (1940-2023)

Julia Frances Curry Stone was born January 15, 1940, in Green County KY to the late Etheridge B. Shack Curry and Inez Brockman. She departed this life Saturday, November 11, 2023, having attained the age of eighty-three years, nine months, and twenty-seven days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a charter member of Green Hill Baptist Church. She retired from New Haven Moving Company where she was the plant manager.


Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Shively Owen Stone on December 8, 1985; five brothers: Joe Curry, Charles Curry, Willie Curry, Roger Curry, and Harold Curry; four sisters: Juanita Curry, Eva Jewell Shuffett, Doris Curry, and Louise Parrish.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie and Ricky Simpson and Sandi and Scott Humphrey all of Greensburg, KY. One brother: Jim Curry of Greensburg, Ky: three sisters and one brother-in-law; Sue Bondurant of Pensacola Florida, Martha Curry of Shepherdsville, KY, and Wanda and Mitch Edelen of Indian Land, South Carolina. She is also survived by three grandchildren and their spouses: Tiffany and Shane DeSimone, Wesley J and Courtney Simpson, and Zach and Amber Humphrey. Four great grandchildren: Brooks and Coralyne "CeCe" DeSimone, and Katherine and William Simpson. Plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Julia Frances Curry Stone will be conducted at 12noonCT Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg with Bro. Cliffton Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Green County Memory Gardens Cemetery, in the Summersville Community of Green County. Visitation will be from 5-8 Tuesday and after 7 Wednesday until time of the service.

Pallbearers: Tim Curry, Troy Curry, Don Shuffett, Joe B Curry, John Curry, Dennis Curry, Keith Curry, Chris Edelen, Derek Bondurant. Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Nieces.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to The Gideon Bible Fund. These can be made at the funeral home.
