Burn bans being ordered due to very dry days Metcalfe County Judge/Executive Larry Wilson has issued the first burn ban in our region, declaring all outdoor burning banned in Edmonton/Metcalfe County, KY, until further notice. Burn bans prohibit the burning of ANY kind of material at ANY TIME of the day. Weather conditions continue to be challenging, according to a release today from Gov. Andy Beshear. High pressure will continue to settle across the Ohio Valley through Thursday. This will lead to very dry weather with high temperatures averaging above normal through Friday. Drought conditions have increased threats of wildfires, with at least 40% of the state experiencing drought conditions. Kentucky is in the midst of the Fall Wildfire Hazard Season, and there are additional restrictions through county-level burn bans. This story was posted on 2023-11-13 16:05:06
