Bruce Lynn Kelsey, 80, Russell County, KY (1943-2023)

Bruce Lynn Kelsey, age 80, of Eli, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 02 2023 at his residence.

He retired from CSX Railroad where he was a superintendent, and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a great man, husband, father and grandfather and was loved by all who knew him. He was mentioned as having a PhD in railroading by his peers and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.


He was born on Thursday, February 11 1943, in Font Hill, Kentucky, the son of Edith Tucker Kelsey and Marlus "Boots" Kelsey, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include: Wife, Annette Kelsey of Derry, Ireland

3 Sons: Kirk Kelsey, spouse Nikki, of Lexington SC.

Barry Kelsey, spouse Tammy, of Rockingham NC.

Bruce Kent Kelsey, spouse Lori, of Galivants Ferry SC.

1 Sister: Patti Ann Kelsey Davis, of Liberty KY

He is survived by 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Ann Kelsey and a sister Deena Blair.

Pallbearers: Jacob Kelsey, Jonah Kelsey, Kyle Kelsey, Adam Davis, Ashley Davis, Daniel Blair and Brandon Blair.

Funeral services will be 2pmCT Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation will be 11amCT Wednesday.

Interment will be in Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY. Officiating: Bro. Richie Curtis

Expressions of sympathy suggested to Hospice of Lake Cumberland local Veterans Groups. Military Honors by the Russell County Honor Guard.
