A few hours left to change parties to vote in primary of choice County Court Clerk Ann Melton's office is open until 4:30 p.m. December 30, 2006 The office of Adair County Court Clerk Ann Melton is the only office open in the Courthouse Annex today, Friday, December 30, 2005. The Clerk said she was trying to give everyone who wanted a chance to switch parties to be able to do so by the deadline for voting in the primary of their choice next year or to run as an independent. The statutory deadline for making the change is December 31, 2005. The clerk's office will be closed on Saturday, along with other County Offices, and will take the New Year's holiday off on Monday, January 2, 2006.The deadline is important for two groups:
