Edna Karnes, 78, Columbia, KY (1945-2023)

Edna (Curry) Karnes of Columbia died on Friday, October 27, 2023. She was 78 years old.

The funeral service will be held at NoonCT on Tuesday, October 31 2023, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Darrell Karnes and Bro. Darrell Pelston officiating. Burial will follow in Cane Valley Cemetery

Visitation is requested after 4pmCT on Monday.


She was born October 5, 1945, in Adair County, to the late Paul and Dorothy Buckner Curry.

Edna was a member of Sparksville Church of the Nazarene and retired as an Instructional Aide from the Adair County School System. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brady Karnes, and a nephew, Brandon Burns.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband - Lonny Karnes of Columbia
  • One son and daughter-in-law - Bradley and Cheryl Karnes of Columbia
  • One daughter and son-in-law - Lea Ann and Landon Parnell of Columbia
  • Four grandchildren - Sarah DeWitt (Alex), Colton Parnell (Britney), Chloe Karnes, Jaxon Karnes
  • One great-granddaughter - Olivia Parnell
  • Two sisters and brothers-in-law - Paula & Jeff Pyles of Green County, Mary Anna and Barney Burns of Columbia
Casket Bearers: Barney Burns, Randy Burns, Alex DeWitt, Colton Parnell, George Kenneth Pollard, Matthew Corbin, Roger Lacy
