Steve Cooksey, 67, Cumberland County, KY (1956-2023) Steve Cooksey, age 67 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his home. Steve was born on January 18, 1956 in Burkesville, KY to James Chester Cooksey and Joyce Inell Watson Cooksey. He was a Financial Advisor at Cooksey Financial Services and Edwards Jones in Georgetown, KY, a member of Kiwanis in Georgetown, KY and a member of Burkesville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Cooksey and father-in-law, Tip Baker. Survivors include: His wife - Janie Baker Cooksey of Burkesville His parents - Jimmy & Inell Cooksey of Burkesville Daughter - Kari Cooksey of Melbourne, FL Son - Eric Cooksey of Athens, GA Bonus children - Bradley & Shining Hall of Newark, CA, and Casey & Arielle Hall of Santa Cruz, CA Grandchildren - Ava & Brita Cooksey of Athens, GA, James "JAC" Cooksey of Melbourne, FL and Asherah Rose-Hall of Santa Cruz, CA Brother & Sister-in-law - Greg & Debra Cooksey of Burkesville Mother-in-law - Pat Baker of Cawood, KY Brothers-in-law & Sisters-in-law - Ben Taylor & Karen Baker of Cawood, KY, Ronnie & Deb Baker of Fletcher, NC, and Tara Baker of Clark, NJ Special friend - Jill Ehling of Melbourne, FL Steve was surrounded and cared for by the love of his life, Janie Baker Cooksey. He was always willing to provide encouragement, wisdom, and kindness to all those around him, and his keen sense of humor would brighten any room. He will be missed by all who knew him.
