Sue Jones, 77, Russell County, KY (1946-2023)

Sue Jones, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 77 years of age.

Born February 27, 1946 in Adair County, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Nola Wolford Goodin. Sue was a hairdresser for over fifty years. She was owner of Sue's Beauty Shop, then later, P & S Designs, with her daughter, Pam. She enjoyed camping and being out on the lake, but most of all, spending time with her two granddaughters. It can be said that Sue was someone who just "enjoyed life." Sue was a faithful member of Jamestown Christian Church.


Survivors include a son, Darren (and JoBeth) Jones, of Russell Springs; a brother, Edwin (and Bernice) Goodin, of Columbia; two sisters, Beulah Jones, of Russell Springs, and Kay Burton, of Columbia; two grandchildren, Meleah (and Ben) Walters, of Russell Springs, and Elizabeth (and Jordan) Helm, of Russell Springs; a niece, Ann Williamson, of Lexington; a nephew, Donnie (and Stephanie) Jones, of Russell Springs; a great-niece, Morgan Jones; and two great-nephews, Matthew (and Emily Williamson), and Ben Jones.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Jones; a daughter Pamela Jo Coffey; a brother, Hubert Gooden; and brother-in-law; Bennie Jones.

Services are 11amCT Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Jamestown Christian Church, with Bro. Bucky Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Wolford Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:30 to 8 Wednesday, October 18, and again after 9 Thursday, at Jamestown Christian Church.

Ben Walters, Jordan Helm, Ben Jones, Matthew Williamson, Craig Leach, and Brian Wilson will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations in memory of Sue to Jamestown Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 97, Jamestown, Kentucky 42629.

Bernard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
