Mary Rose Johnson, 82, Casey County, KY (1941-2023)

Mary Rose Johnson, of Windsor, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. She was 82.

Born April 2, 1941, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Oscar and Ella Chumbley Turpin. During her life, Mary worked as a seamstress at Oshkosh and also worked at the Galilean Home's Angel House. She loved cooking for her friends and family, and nobody ever left her house hungry. Mary attended Jennies Chapel United Methodist Church.


Mary is survived by her children, Bruce (Theresa) Johnson, of Windsor, Larry (Estelita) Johnson, of Windsor, Barry (Karen) Johnson, of Dunnville, and Wanda Stephens, of Windsor; her sister, Dolly Mae Luttrell; 7 grandchildren, Brandon, Dustin, Derek, Jasmine, Hunter (Madison), Baron, and Noah; 5 great-grandchildren, Bryson, Addy, Carter, Elowyn, and Paisley; two special nieces, Kim (Albert) Kane and Lexi (Mason) Pyles; and a special nephew, Lester (Gloria) Luttrell.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arlie Lee Johnson; grandson, Bruce Lee Johnson Jr.; and two infant siblings.

The funeral service will be held Monday, October 16, 2023, at 1pmET at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Richard West and Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Burial to follow in Jennies Chapel Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 6-9 and Monday after 8.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Johnson.
