Charles Hugh Austin, 94, Jamestown, KY (1929-2023) Charles Hugh Austin, of Jamestown, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Summit Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was 94 years of age. Hugh was born July 3, 1929, in Bryantsville, son of the late Walter and Della Wilham Austin. He was a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force, serving his country over 21 years. Hugh was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Hood Lodge #839 of Free and Accepted Masons, since 1974. He was a huge NASCAR fan and always enjoyed family reunions. He is survived by his sons, Phillip (and Veronica) Austin and Greg Austin, both of Russell Springs; his daughters, Marilyn Stafford, of Liberty, Dianna (and Greg) Stapp, of Russell Springs, Jo Ann (and Bill) Braun, of Red Bud, Illinois, and Charlene (and Otis) Skaggs, of Russell Springs; his brother, Phillip (and Danette) Austin, of North Carolina; his sisters, Alice (and Thomas) Jefferies, of Virginia, and Carolyn Gier, of Scottsville; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Hugh is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Ruth Pfaff Austin; his son, Ronald Charles Austin; his son-in-law, Mark Stafford; his brothers, Gwen Austin and Royce Austin; his sisters, Wilmith Hall and Evelyn Rich; and his granddaughter, April Dawn Austin.
