David Day, 87, Columbia, KY (1936-2023)

David Day of Columbia died on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Campbellsville Nursing & Rehab in Campbellsville. He was 87 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 2pmT on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Calvary Temple Church on New Concord Rd. in Columbia, with Pastor Troy McWhorter officiating. Burial will follow in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 5pmCT on Wednesday, and after 6amCT on Thursday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, and after 10amCT on Thursday at Calvary Temple Church.


David was born July 9, 1936, in Adair County, to the late Garland and Marie Ingram Day. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Brock Day, a brother, Billy Day and a granddaughter, Jenee Devine.

David was a member of Calvary Temple Church, serving as a Board Member for years and was an employee of Day & Day Feed for years.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter and son-in-law - Beverly and Ray Smith of Campbellsville
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law - Gary and Julie Day, Anthony and Ashley Day all of Columbia
  • Five grandchildren - Chase Smith, Garet Day, Austin Day, Annamarie Day, Jaimi Franklin
  • Two brothers - Bobby Day and Allen Day both of Columbia
  • His twin sister - Dorothy Mullins of Mississippi
  • Special nephew - Ray and his wife Jennifer Brock of Columbia
  • Several other relatives and friends
Casket Bearers: Chase Smith, Garet Day, Austin Day, Casey Wall, Jameson Miller, Brody Brock

Honorary: Billy Burton, Wayne Bryant, Louis VanArsdale
