Mary Malone, 91, Russell County, KY (1932-2023)

Mary Bessie Malone, 91, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, October 6th, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY.

Mary Bessie was born in Jamestown, KY on August 13, 1932, a daughter of the late Liddie (Lawless) and Arles Chapman.

She was a member of Freedom Christian Church and a retired schoolteacher.


Mary Bessie is survived by:

Two daughters, Peggy Osborne, of Morehead, KY; Lila McGowan (Drew), of Jamestown, KY.

A son, Junior Malone (Sherri), of Russell Springs, KY.

She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Tyler (Stephanie) McGowan, Trey (Chelsea) McGowan, Marisa Malone, Sidney (David) Stephens, 5 great grandchildren Rylen, Marlee, Tucker, Liddie McGowan and Colt Taylor, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William Ray Malone, sister Lizza Garner and grandson Travis McGowan.

Funeral Service will be held 2pmCT on Monday, October 9, 2023 at H. E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY with Bro. Wendell Roberts and Bro. Scott Gray officiating.

Friends may visit 10-2 Monday, October 9th at H. E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY. Family request memorial donations to the Bethel Cemetery and can be made at the funeral home. Burial in the Bethel Cemetery Jamestown, KY.

Pallbearers: Junior Malone, Tyler McGowan, Trey McGowan, David Stephens, Chuck Malone, Kevin Malone, Tucker McGowan, Rylen McGowan, Marlee McGowan and Colt Taylor.
