Soup and Sandwich Lunch at Trabue House on Oct 18

The Trabue-Russell House will again host a soup and sandwich lunch from 11amCT to 1pmCT on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The historic Trabue-Russell House is located at 201 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY.

Offerings include White beans and cornbread, Chili and crackers, Kentucky Burgoo, Pimento Cheese Sandwich, Ham and Cheese Sliders, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Oatmeal-Raisin Cookies, Chess Bars, Brownies, Lemonade, Water and Fresh Apple Cider. Contributing chefs are Robert Flowers, Don and Betty Knifley, Mary Anne Loy, Susan Loy, Richard Phelps, and Mike Watson

A beautiful fall day will mean seating can be outside, as well as inside. And everyone will have the chance to see new displays featuring Local State Basketball Tournament Teams, the Adair County Fair, Circle R Restaurant, Meadow Hill Inn, (Four Star) General Barksdale Hamlett, Lance Burton, and Jerry Lee Lewis. The last roses of summer will be on display in the Julia Miller Horton Rose Garden. A medicinal and herb garden is now under construction, led by Sheila Willis and Debbie Cowan.

Cost is $10.00, and proceeds support preservation of the house and grounds. Carryout is available, and deliveries can be made to groups of 5 or more if orders are placed by Monday, October 16, 2023. Call 270-250-1831, or FAX 270-384-6055 to order.

Rose garden ready for Wednesday lunch guests

Roses are still blooming in the Julia Miller Horton Rose Garden at the historic Trabue Russell House in Columbia. Wednesday, October 18th, everyone is invited to lunch there and tour the house and garden. Cost is $10 and proceeds support preservation of the house and grounds.
