CPD: Drug arrest on Wall Street

On Tuesday night, October 3, 2023, while on general patrol, CPD officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a residence on Wall Street.

When an occupant saw the police cruiser, officer observed a male subject attempt to hide and drop objects in grass of residence. Contact was made with the individual and it was determined he was under the influence. Property that the party attempted to discard was located and found to be suspected narcotics.


Joel Yardberry, 38, of Columbia, has been charged with public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance drug unspecified, tampering with physical evidence and wanton endangerment 1st.

Sgt Evan Burton was the arresting Officer. He was assisted by Officer Elliot Smith and The Adair Sheriff's Office.
