Bernice Wisdom, 76, Adair Co., KY native (1947-2023) Bernice Bennett Wisdom of Edmonton passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow. She was 76 years old. Funeral services will be held at NoonCT on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Carl Edwards and Bro. Nick Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Morris Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue Saturday until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. She was born on June 18, 1947, in Adair County to the late Frank Clifton and Nora Alice Bragg Bennett. Ms. Wisdom was a member of the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Pleasant Ridge Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include a daughter Jan Shive (Chris) of Edmonton, KY; a grandson Gage Hunter Shive of Edmonton, KY; two sisters Delsie Gibson of Scipio, IN and Virginia Coomer (Garry) of Edmonton, KY; her dog Zoey: caregiver Paula Whitten and several nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings Finley Harold Bennett, Lorene V. Bennett, and Vernell Yates. Pallbearers will be Jason Bennett, Matthew Blades, Tim Campbell, Barry Froedge, Jason Lacy, and Johnny Reece. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Bragg, Donnie Bragg, Chris Shive, Paul Whitten, Gage Shive, Tonya Reece, and Tammy Haney. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
