Four to be honored at 92nd LWC Homecoming Weekend By Venus M. Popplewell Three alumni and one devoted benefactor will be honored during Lindsey Wilson College's 92nd homecoming celebration on September 26-30, 2023. The awards luncheon will be held at 11amCT on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center, 430 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, KY. The event-packed weekend, dubbed "Aim for the Stars," will also feature several reunions and events, including a special reunion celebrating 16 years of the Bonner Scholars program; the Inaugural Dr. Scott Dillery Fall Frenzy Swimming Invitational and naming ceremony; an LWC Singers reunion and performance; the 2nd Annual Brady Conrad Button Memorial Golf Scramble; and a homecoming alumni tailgate. "It will be another full weekend for alumni and friends," said Lindsey Wilson Director of Alumni Relations Lafawn Nettles who has served as LWC alumni director since 2020. "We've assembled a weekend of activities in which there is something for everyone." At the Alumni Awards Celebration on Saturday, September 30, in Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center, the Lindsey Wilson National Alumni Association will honor four individuals:
All current and former LWC faculty and staff are invited back to campus at 11amCT, on Friday, September 29 for the 7th-annual faculty and staff reunion picnic on the campus quadrangle. The naming ceremony for the Dr. Scott Dillery Fall Frenzy Swimming Invitational will be held at 4:45pmCT on Friday, September 29 in memory of the late LWC professor of mathematics who served LWC for more than 20 years before his death. Prior to the Alumni Awards Celebration, the 2nd-annual Brady Conrad Button Memorial Golf Scramble will take place. Registration begins at 8amCT. Participants will meet at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson. All proceeds will benefit the Brady Conrad Button Endowed Scholarship. In Blue Raider athletics: LWC volleyball will take on Campbellsville University at 6pmCT, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. The crowning of the 2023 LWC homecoming king and queen will be held at halftime of the football game between LWC and Faulkner (Alabama) University at Parnell Family Stadium, Lindsey Wilson Sports Park, 820 Hanley Lane, Columbia, KY.
