Velma Arthur, 96, Russell County, KY (1926-2023) Velma "Veb" Arthur, of Russell Springs, KY passed from this life on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Russell County Hospital. She was 96 years of age. She was a special little lady who was easy-going with everyone. Ms. Veb loved keeping in touch with her family, having company and going to visit with family and friends. She was a perfect hostess, always asking if she could make coffee or fix something to eat. When you left her home, you were sure to see her at her door and calling out "You come back!". Ms. Veb loved going shopping and getting out to push mow her yard. Ms. Veb entered into this life at home, in Russell County, on December 24, 1926, daughter of the late Oliver and Nancy Moran Arthur. She is survived by her nieces and nephews and many special friends. Funeral services are 1pmCT Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Phillip Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Bernard Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 10am Tuesday, at Bernard Funeral Home, until time for services. The Arthur family sends a "Thank You" to all the special caregivers who took a role in caring for Ms. Veb in her final days: Cassandra Brown, Karen Bradshaw, the nursing staff of Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation, Russell County Hospital nurses and the nurses of Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
