Bettie Ethel Hoots Shoopman, 86, Green County, KY Bettie Ethel Hoots Shoopman of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Hershel Hoots and Irena Sewell Hoots, was born on Sunday, January 31, 1937 in Cumberland County, Kentucky and departed this life on Saturday, September 23, 2023. She was 86 years, 7 months, and 23 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Jesus Name Church in Campbellsville. She was retired from Edmonton Manufacturing Co. after 30 plus years of service. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jessie Riley Shoopman on January 24, 2017, having united in marriage on July 1, 1961. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Kalvin L. and Kathy Shoopman of Nicholasville; three grandchildren: Marketta and Shawn Anna, Jeremiah Shoopman all of Florida, and Ashley Shoopman of Nicholasville; great-grandchildren: Krystabella Anna, Kahlan Anna, Emily Anna and Daniel, due in December, all of Florida; a brother and sister: Billy Hoots of Louisville, and Judy Hoots Roberts of Shelbyville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a brother: James Hoots. The funeral services will be conducted at 11amCT Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. Burial and graveside service to follow at 2 at the Burkesville Cemetery in Cumberland County. Elder Rueal Boils and Elder Jimmy Sharp officiating. Visitation is requested from 4 - 7 Tuesday and after 7 Wednesday until time of the funeral service. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family burial expenses, which can be made at the funeral home.
