Evelyn ''Cecil'' Campbell Martinez, 72, dies in Chicago

The matriarch of a large family she leaves 30 descendants
Evelyn "Cecil" Campbell Martinez, 72, Chicago, IL, formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2005, in Chicago, IL.

The funeral service was Monday, December 19, 2005, at 10:00 a.m.at the Pomierski & Son Funeral Home in Chicago, IL.


She was the daughter of the late Jessie Harvey and Eva Spoon Baker of of Adair County, KY.She is survived by the following:
  • Four sons: Phillip Campbell, Harry Campbell, and Steven Campbell, all of Chicago, IL; and Galen Campbell, Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Cheryl Campbell, Chicago, IL

  • Three brothers: Sanford Baker, IN; and H.C. Baker and Randall, both of IL

  • Eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren

  • And one sister: Magdalene Melson, IL
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jolene Marsden.

Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
