Ernest Bennett, 90, Russell County, KY (1933-2023) Ernest Bennett, of Russell Springs, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023. He was 90 years of age. Born January 19, 1933, in Adair County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late George and Nora Smith Bennett. Ernest was a former machine maintenance mechanic with 44 years of service at Arvin Industries in Franklin, Indiana. He was a faithful member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church. Ernest loved to read and study his Bible. He enjoyed growing a vegetable garden and sharing his harvest with the family and friends that he loved to visit. Survivors include five daughters, Wanda Badgley, of Shelbyville, Indiana, Sheila Coaley, of Festus, Missouri, Marilyn (and Robert) White, of New Palestine, Indiana, Debby Edmonds, of Jamestown, and Kim (and Eddie) Matthews, of Greenwood, Indiana; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Russell Bennett, Sam Bennett, Herbert Bennett, and Marvin Bennett; and four sisters, Mildred Stapp, Rachel Irvin, Helen Bennett, and Virginia Bennett. Funeral services are 2pmCT Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Bobby Oakes officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Springs City Cemetery. Visitation for the public will begin at 9 Saturday. In lieu of flowers, his daughters request donations be made to Cedar Springs Baptist Church in their father's memory.
