Gov. Beshear approves requests for road repair funding

Frankfort, KY - Governor Beshear announced over $6 million in a new round of discretionary funding for city and county governments on September 21, 2023, for repairs to local streets and roads.

Local allocations include:
  • $132,300.00 to Adair Co. for resurfacing on Winfrey Hill Rd (CR1034)
  • $120,000.00 to Casey Co. for resurfacing on Iven Godbey Road (CR1129)
  • $123,505.00 to Cumberland Co. for resurfacing on Mike's Landing Road (CR1479)
  • $66,825.00 to Russell Co. for resurfacing on Lafavers Cemetery Road (CR1710)
  • $59,400.00 to Russell Co. for resurfacing on C Simpson Road (CR1385)
  • $17,400.00 to Russell Springs for resurfacing on Campground Road (CS2015)
"I'm glad we are able to allocate this funding, especially for communities still recovering from the devastating tornadoes of 2021 and widespread flooding of 2022," Gov. Beshear said. "Local streets and roads help connect and define a community, but roadway needs can quickly mount up and overwhelm a local government's budget."
