Dannie Keith Newton, 76, Campbellsville, KY (1947-2023)

Dannie Keith Newton, of Campbellsville, the son of the late Malcolm Derr and Elizabeth Ann (Agee) Newton, was born August 21, 1947 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Monday, August 28, 2023 at his home. He was 76 years of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of White's Ridge General Baptist Church. He was a retired school bus driver for the Campbellsville Independent School System.

He enjoyed frying fish for events and churches, loved fishing, gardening and cooking cornbread and chocolate pies for his family, but most of all spending time with his grandbabies.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister: Glen Allen Newton and Martha Nell Benningfield, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife: Wanda Faye (Roberts) Newton; his children: Zandell Derr "Ziggy" Newton, Holly Avila, Dallas Shane Newton, James Hicks, Joseph Hicks, Melissa Edelen and Anthony Hicks and wife Marla.

Also three brothers: Orville Newton and wife Rena, Robbie Newton and wife Diane and Melvin Ray "Shorty" Newton and wife Delores; 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Darrell Sherrell, Preston Forrest, Allen Newton, Billy Benningfield, Timmy Newton, Austin Davis, Jeremy Settles, Jeddy Chastain.
