WINTER WEATHER: School buses on one-hour delay Dec. 16, 2005

Adair County Schools will be operating on a one-hour delay today, Friday, December 16, 2005.

David Jones, Director of Pupil Transportation for the Adair County School District, called at 5:15 a.m. to make the announcement.


"There is black ice down at Sparksville and Breeding," Mr. Jones gave as the reason for the delay.

Patches of snow and ice were also seen in other areas of the county.

Tractor trailer rig overturns because of black ice

At least one accident was attributed to black ice this morning. A tractor-trailer outfit overturned between mile markers 42&43 on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway, just west of the Jones Chapel RD overpass, in Gradyville. Fortunately, no one was injured.

LBN Parkway accdent blamed on black ice



2005-12-16 - LBN Pkwy between 42&43 mile markers, Gradyville, Adair CO, KY - Photo Staff. Miraculously, no one was injured in this early Friday morning, December 16, 2005, accident on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway between milemarkers 42 & 43, at Gradyville, KY. That's the Jones Chapel Road overpass in the background, and Trooper B.J.
