George Laramore, 82, Green County, KY (1940-2023) George Forrest Laramore of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at his home having attained the age of 82 years, eight months and 22 days. He was active from an early age in his father's sawmill business and was a farmer. He worked for Anaconda Wire and Cable for over 19 years, and most recently worked at Cox Interior until he retired at 80 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was an ordained Deacon in the Separate Baptist denomination. He was attending the Summersville Church of the Nazarene. He was a man of steadfast faith, strong family values, and an unwavering love for the outdoors. George's life was a testament to the principles he held dear: his dedicated faith in God, his persevering work ethic, and the joy of nature's beauty. He was a devoted father and grandfather, a skilled carpenter, and an avid outdoorsman who touched the lives of many. Born with a spirit that yearned for the open air and the call of the wild, George found his peace and joy in the great outdoors. Whether he was hunting in the woods or casting a line into the river, he felt most alive in nature's embrace. His adventures in the wilderness became stories he loved to share, sparking smiles and laughter among family and friends. George's faith and values were woven into the fabric of his life, influencing his actions, words and relationships. As we remember him, we are reminded of the importance of living a life in accordance with God's will. His legacy encourages us to honor our faith, love our families deeply, and cherish the beauty of the world around us. Though George's earthly journey has come to an end, his spirit lives on through the memories he created and the values he instilled. He may be absent from our sight, but his presence remains in the lessons he taught us and the love he shared. He was the son of the late Louie Franklin and Alice Pierce Laramore, born on December 3, 1940 in Belgrade, Missouri. He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Janet Jeffries Laramore, having united in marriage on September 16, 1961. Other survivors include two sons daughters-in-law: Greg and Charlotte Laramore of Greensburg and Kent and Erin Laramore of Cincinnati; one daughter and son-in-law: Jill and Erik Edwards of Greensburg; four grandchildren: Paislee and Jeremy Cheatham of Bowling Green, Natalie and Chris Taylor of Campbellsville, Nathan Laramore and Nadia Kahn of Glasgow, and Jackson Edwards of Greensburg; six great-grandchildren: Cameron Sawyer, Cambria Laramore, Connor Laramore, Braylie Fox, Emma Fox and Hagan Taylor; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Don and Jodi Laramore and Raymond and Donna Laramore all of Missouri; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Wilma and Bud Coy, Erma and Jim Harrelson, Phyllis and Bill Long, and Elaine and Michael O'Bryan all of Missouri; one sister-in-law: June Laramore of Missouri; plus a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law: Melba and Nunis Jones and Mary Ann and Lester Schraoer; three brothers and one sister-in-law: Jimmy and Juanita Laramore, Johnny Laramore and Sonny Laramore. The funeral services will be conducted at 1pmCT on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Bro. Jamie McCormack officiating. Visitation is requested after 10 until the time of the service. The family has requested expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Kosair Children's, which can be made at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Jon Jeffries, Ricky Moran, Jeremy Cheatham, Steven Lobb, Connor Laramore, Nathan Laramore, Chris Taylor and Chris Decker Honorary Pallbearers: Phillip Cox, Grady DeWitt, and the Senior Sunday School Class of Summersville Church of the Nazarene.
