Lucian C. Edwards, 90, Columbia, KY (1932-2023) Lucian Clavis Edwards of Columbia passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at T. J. Health Columbia, with his family by his side. He was 90 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Gary Tucker and Bro. Brian Fudge officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia Cemetery, with military honors provided by VFW Post 6097. Visitation will be on Monday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue on Tuesday until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born on December 18, 1932, in Greensburg, KY to the late Willie and Pearl Rodgers Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a member of Through the Fire Worship Center and was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Lucian enjoyed serving his Lord and Savior and singing at church. He also enjoyed traveling, being around people, University of Kentucky basketball and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Lottie Janes Edwards of Columbia, KY; a daughter Debbie Selby (Dennis) of Columbia, KY; two grandchildren Chad Wheat (Emily) of Columbia, KY and Ashley Parker of Berea, KY; five great grandchildren Bryleigh Wheat, Audrey Kruizenga, Solon Parker, Sawyer Parker, and Willow Parker and several nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Arlen Edwards, four sisters Magaline Floyd, Margie Bryant, Nora Belle Stotts, and Maxine McDonald, a half-sister Helen Dudley, and two half-brothers Limon and Vernon Edwards. Pallbearers will be Chad Wheat, Ryan Burris, Brian Fudge, Trevor Murphy, Steven Tupman, and Benton Fudge. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Green River and can be left at the funeral home. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
