Phillip Coffey - Wayward Breeze

Wayward Breeze - by Phillip Coffey

Here he sits among the watered ferns and other flowers,
Serious thoughts going through his head - but truly doubts it.
Tired, weathered, worn ole feller - taking up the morning do(s)
This soon passed - Gathered up and soon discarded.

All that dense fog in his head left with the shining Yellow
Encircling attached to Mother Earth, the bright morning sun
Heats his inner soul - all the troubles now magically forgotten.
Youthful folly remains within - smiling upon the childhood gems.

Leather shoe bottoms, trodding on the late, dampened night
Take them off, much delight, nearly rotten - all is ill gotten.
Polished Eastern Sun rising - just above the horizon.

Scattered thoughts erased, patting feet of small feline,
With some tattered urgency - near his swollen feet.
Plotting out his evening hunts between his slumber(s)
Suddenly ATTACKS! then retreats with the hot, wayward breeze.
