Tonja M. (Pooh) Coffey, 55, Russell Springs, KY (1967-2023)

Tonja Michelle "Pooh" Coffey of Russell Springs passed away on Monday morning, July 24, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, in Lexington. She was 55 years old.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10amCT on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Square Oak Separate Baptist Church, with Brother Bobby Conner and Brother Lance Coffey officiating. Tonja will be laid to rest in Square Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5pmCT to 8pmCT on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY. Visitation will continue from 8:30amCT until 10amCT on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Square Oak Separate Baptist Church.


Born on September 12, 1967, in Somerset, she was the daughter of the late Brother Donnie and Glenna Zimmerman Coffey. At a young age, Tonja accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was born again. She was a long-standing member of Square Oak Separate Baptist Church. Tonja was a devout Russell County Laker fan and loved going to ballgames. She enjoyed working on the farm and babysitting.

She is survived by her brothers, Brother Troy (and Allison) Coffey, and Tylar (and Stephanie) Coffey, both of Russell Springs; her nieces and nephews, Donavyn Coffey, Brenan (and Janzen) Coffey, Hayes Coffey, Jaterria Coffey, Aniyah Coffey, Bianca Coffey, Kiara Coffey, Cadylee (and Evan) Coffey, Audrey (and Ryder) Karnes, Jace Coffey, Presley Johnson, and Parker Johnson; a special nephew, Lucas Bault; and her great-nephew, Hadlee Finn Karnes;

Troy Coffey, Tylar Coffey, Brenan Coffey, Hayes Coffey, Jace Coffey, Parker Johnson, and Lucas Bault will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to Square Oak Cemetery Fund, 15 J. Wilson Road, Russell Springs, KY 42642.
