Walter Oglesby Peatross, 61, Jamestown, KY (1961-2023) Walter Oglesby Peatross, of Jamestown, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was 61 years old. Funeral services are scheduled for 2pmCT on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Josh Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Bernard Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11amCT until time of services, at the funeral home. A celebration of Walter's life will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina, at a later date. Born on October 8, 1961, in Greensboro, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Andrew Harrison and Mary Elise Livingston Peatross. Walter was a former car salesman with Don Franklin Auto and Tri-City Motors. He loved riding his Harley and spending time boating on Lake Cumberland. Everyone in Walter's life knew he had fun being the "jokester" in the crowd. Family was very important to him and visiting his granddaughter was a highlight of his life. Walter attended Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife, Tinia Johnson-Peatross, of Jamestown; a son, Joe Dylon Johnson, of Russell Springs; a daughter, Hannah (and Brandon) Underwood, of Bargersville, Indiana; two brothers, Andrew Harrison (and Tammy) Peatross, Jr., of Raleigh, North Carolina, and John McCormick, of Charleston, South Carolina; two sisters, Michel (and Mark) Gnagy, of Bellhaven, North Carolina, and Lisa (and Milton) Beck, of San Antonio, Texas; a granddaughter, Maisyn Michelle Underwood; and grandson, Daxton Andrew Oglesby Underwood, who is "on-the way." In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Miles McCormick, and Bill McCormick. Funeral arrangements for Mr. Walter Peatross are entrusted to Bernard Funeral Home.
