Storm passed us over, school is in session, life is back to normal

By Linda Waggener

Did you enjoy all that anticipation yesterday? Did you slide on the thin layer of ice that fell early in the day and then pay serious attention to the storm warnings? Did you stock up on groceries or buy some snow tires in preparation? Did you get out the sleds?

That would have been good practice but not necessary. Our first big snow storm, predicted to be an inch or two for Adair County, went north of us. We got lots of rain and wind and a little ice, but not enough to slow things down this morning.

We're waking up to bright sunshine and safe roads. School is in and life is back to normal.

We'd have to drive north to LaRue County to find a snow picture for you this morning but by then the whole idea of snow would be old news.
