Charlotte Sue Lanham Phillips, 79, Casey County, KY Charlotte Sue Lanham Phillips, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. She was 79. She was a nurses aid for twenty-six years. She enjoyed crocheting, woodworking, crafting, making candies, and cooking for others. Born on November 29, 1943, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late James Coleman and Emma Neal Lanham. She is survived by two sisters, Barbara Lane and Alice Sallee, both of Liberty; a brother, Dennis (Sharon) Lanham of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews who looked forward to her Christmas candies and baked goodies every year. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Phillips, who passed away on February 16, 1999; five sisters, Marie Hendricks, Mary Neal, Ruth Galvin, Georgia Harris, and Phyllis Davis; seven brothers, Glenn Lanham, Floyd Lanham, Pershing Lanham, Ralph Lanham, Jimmy Lanham, Wesley Lanham, and Leland Lanham; and her beloved dog, Sissy. The funeral service will be held at 2pmET on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Bruce Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Lanhamtown Cemetery.
