Renea Kerns, 90, Adair Co., KY native (1932-2023) Renea (Coomer) Kerns of Lebanon Junction returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, July 14, 2023. She was 90 years old. A prayer service will be conducted at 6pmET on Monday, July 17, 2023, in the chapel of Hardy Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street, Shepherdsville, KY. Family and friends may pay their respects from 2pmET to 8pmET on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Hardy-Close. A local funeral service will be held at 2pmCT on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects after 10amCT on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Renea was born on Friday, November 8, 1932, in Adair County, to the late Freemon and Rachel Coomer. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those for whom she loved and cared. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lee Roy Kerns, siblings, Leon Coomer, Forbes Coomer, Landon Coomer, and Matra Stargel. She is survived by her children Diann Elliott (Jimmy), Patsy Young (Paul), Roy David Kerns (Nancy), June Moore (Roy), Rebecca Ashbaugh (Terry); sister, Estelene Hayes; grandchildren, Angie Etherton, Stephanie Lewis, Paula Peoples, Matthew Kerns, Andrew Kile, Daniel Moore, Haley Keeling, Emily Moore; 13 great- grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
