Bill Cogbill, 87, Cumberland County, KY (1936-2023)

Bill Cogbill, age 87 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at his home. He was born on in Star City, Arkansas on March 24, 1936 to the late Clarence Cogbill and Olene Carmon Cogbill.

He was a former employee of Sutton Shirt Corporation and later owned B & M Manufacturing and Billco Manufacturing. He was a member of Burkesville Baptist Church.


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lucille "Mickey" Cogbill and one son Gilbert Cogbill and two sisters Elean "Tootsie" Drake and Joann Cooper.

Survivors Include:

Three Sons- Bruce Cogbill and his wife Barbara of Monticello, KY, Paul Cogbill and his wife Frannie of Monroe, TN and Thomas Baker and his wife Pam of Bowling Green, KY

One Daughter- Becky Armstrong and her husband Jimmy of Burkesville, KY

One Brother- Jerry Cogbill of Jackson, TN

One Sister- Jimmie Sue Green of Buford, SC

Companion and caregiver- Hazel Smith of Burkesville, KY

Five Grandchildren- Daniel Cogbill(Laura), and Cassandra Cogbill, Kevin Armstrong(Alecia), Christina Coy(Murphey), Holly Page Baker(Andy)

Five Great Grandchildren- Emily Cogbill, Cody Cogbill, Cannon Murphey Coy, Lucille Elizabeth Coy, Everlee Rose Armstrong and one expectant great grandchild Baby Cox

and a host of other relatives and friends also survive

Funeral Service: Sunday, July 16, 2023 at 2pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Stockton Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to WE CARE or the Stockton Cemetery Fund.

Pallbearers: Bill Taylor, John Phelps, Jr., Randall Garmon, Jeremy Cooksey, Josh Henderson, David Claywell, Shannon Claywell, Daniel Cogbill, Cody Cogbill
