Public Square to be blocked off nightly By Amber Hale, KY Transportation Cabinet, District 8 The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that nightly closures will begin next week on KY 55X (mile point 1.5) at the intersection of KY 80/KY 439 as crews work to remove the wings from the courthouse building in downtown Columbia. The Public Square will be closed to through traffic nightly from 7pmCT through 7amCT, Tuesday, July 11, through Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Signed detour routes will be posted. The start date and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays. For Kentucky's latest traffic and travel information, visit goky.ky.gov or navigate traffic by downloading the free Waze app at www.waze.com.
