Phillip G. Burton, 90, Russell County, KY (1933-2023) Phillip G. Burton, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023. He was 90 years of age. He was a veteran who served honorably in the United States Army. He owned and operated Phillip's Dry Cleaners for over 25 years. He could be considered a "Jack of all trades"; he raised horses many years, was a racehorse trainer for some time; he ran different car wash businesses over the years and for a time, delivered Sapp's Doughnuts. He was born June 1, 1933 in Russell Springs, son of the late Virgil and Jewell Wilson Burton. He is survived by his son, Phillip Randall (and Toy) Burton, of Russell Springs; his sister, Annette Godby, of Cincinnati; his grandchildren, Evan (and Cassie Jo) Burton, Kasey (and Shawn) Bardin, and Tara (and Adam) Coomer; his great-grandchildren, Reese Bardin, Blane Bardin and Max Coomer; and a special friend and caregiver, Christine Clark. Along with his parents, Phillip is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Arthur Burton; his brother, Mack Burton and his sister, Nancy Hines. Graveside services will be 10am Monday, July 10, 2023, in Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church Cemetery, with Bro. Phillip Miller officiating.
