Marcella Ballenger, 65, Russell County, KY (1957-2023) Marcella Marie Johnson Ballenger, of Russell Springs, passed away at her home on Friday, July 7, 2023. She was 65 years of age. Born July 19, 1957, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Stonewall Jackson and Joyce Marie Wilson Johnson. Marcella was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to raising her two children. One of her greatest joys over the years was being able to watch her daughter ride at horse shows. She also enjoyed RV camping and feeding all the family's animals. Marcella loved spending time with her grandson, Jackson, and being able to watch him grow. She was a kind-hearted woman who was very passionate about helping anyone in need. Marcella was a member of Living Proof Baptist Church. Survivors include her beloved husband of 48 years, Curtis Ballenger, of Russell Springs; a son Brett (and Kaitlin) Ballenger, of Russell Springs; a daughter, Randa Ballenger, of Russell Springs; a brother, Danny Joe (and Sheila) Johnson, of Russell Springs; and a grandson, Jackson Stone Ballenger. In addition to her parents, Marcella is preceded in death by a brother, Perry Johnson; a sister, Talitha Johnson Bernard; and a granddaughter, Sky Ballenger Grant. Funeral services are 2pmCT July 10, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Melvin Sisson officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 Sunday July 9, at the funeral home, and again at 8 Monday, until the time of services. Pallbearers are Larry Bennett, Luke Mann, Perry Johnson, Jr., Cody Grant, Stuart Johnson, and Jonathan Bernard. This story was posted on 2023-07-08 22:51:29
